BALLERINA INSPIRED BRIDAL STYLE IDEAS
I have been fortunate enough to style hundreds of editorial shoots. Some have been for magazine spreads and others for national ad campaigns. The shoots involved a lot of planning and a lot of hard work. This shoot was different. It was a totally impromptu shoot. Justin and Mary reached out to me the week before and said that they had a gorgeous model that was a ballerina and they wanted to do a ballet inspired shoot. The Nicoletta gown from Hayley Paige immediately came to mind as the perfect gown!
The shoot did not have an elaborate set. It took place at a simple dance studio in New Haven. There was not a huge team of people involved. It was myself, Justin and Mary, and our friend, beauty guru extraordinaire, Erin Infantino. There was no pressure, no timeline…just a group of like-minded talents having fun with lighting, a giant Beoncé fan, a frothy gown, and a beautiful model! And the result was epic!
Sometimes, with our busy schedules we forget why we do what we do. We don’t take the time to do shoots like this, that are just for fun! Take the time to do it! Collaborate with your talented friends…you might just make magic!
And of course. the only way to end a ballerina inspired shoot is with a selfie with your best ballet pose!
