THE BEST BRIDAL FASHION TRENDS FOR SPRING 2022
Bridal Fashion Week for the Spring season 2022 just wrapped up and I’m really excited to be able to share with you the newest and hottest trends in bridal! It’s always so special to see the newest wedding dress designs that brides will be wearing for their upcoming weddings. We were once again virtual for this year’s bridal fashion week, but the beauty and emerging wedding fashion trends still resonated, even through Zoom!
Bridal Fashion Week is the time of year when wedding dress designers show their latest wedding dress designs to press and bridal store owners, like me, the owner of The White Dress By The Shore in Connecticut. (Read through to the end of this post, because I share with you how you can see – and try on! – the new spring 2022 wedding dress styles at a bridal store in your area.)
From romantic, florals, dramatic sleeves, and a return to the classics, below is a recap of some of the top bridal fashion trends and wedding dress design styles for the spring 2022 season:
DRAMATIC SLEEVES
The wedding dress sleeve trend from last season has carried over to Spring 2022. Billowy sleeves graced many of the dress designers’ runways. Often detachable, sleeves on any wedding dress style from long to short, create a romantic option for the wedding ceremony. It’s like getting two wedding dress styles with one dress, as most brides opt to take the sleeves off for the reception.
Y’all know I LOVE a good sleeve, so this is by far my favorite wedding dress trend of the season!

FLORAL APPLIQUES
It’s all about the texture with floral appliques that graced the wedding fashion “virtual” runways for Spring 2022. And nothing says “spring” more than flowers and anything with a romantic floral pattern. Floral and three-dimensional appliques are a beautiful alternative to lace and provide texture to any style of wedding gown.

NON – TRADITIONAL LACES
Lace is always a favorite for any wedding season, but especially for a Spring wedding. It’s soft, it’s delicate and it’s the perfect choice for a wedding dress in any style. Designers this season continued to show unique, non-traditional lace patterns in classic wedding dress shapes.

FLORAL PRINTS AND DETAILS
Floral printed wedding gowns are hot for Spring 2022! The Spring season is all about flowers and wedding dresses are no exception. The wedding dress designers showed both all-over floral prints, strategically placed floral prints and floral details on the dresses.
Personally, I adore the floral print trend for a spring wedding!

HALTER NECKLINES
Halter necklines are re-emerging as a wedding fashion trend that I think we will see for the next few wedding seasons. (A halter neckline on a wedding dress is one where the straps of the dress come up and go around the neck of the bride. The halter straps can either be tied or fastened with buttons, a zipper, or a closure around the neck.)
A halter neckline is a specific look and style for a wedding dress and it is great for many different body types. It’s a “must” for any bride who wants to accentuate her shoulders!

RETURN TO CLASSICS
Besides all of the feminine details, such as the lace and floral prints that we saw on the bridal fashion runways, we also saw a return to clean and classic for the spring 2022 season. In times of uncertainty, as we have experienced in the past year, classic is always best! And in my book, classic never goes out style!

HOW TO TRY ON THE SPRING 2022 WEDDING DRESS STYLES
Are you wondering when and where you can try on these beautiful, new wedding dress styles for your wedding? Here’s a little bit of information on where to find the newest bridal dress styles in your area. Plus, a few insider tips about how the wedding dress fashions work and what you can expect as you shop for the dress of your dreams.
The dress shop owners just saw the newest styles and designs from the designers at the bridal market. Then, we placed our orders for the dresses that we want to carry in our boutiques and shops. It typically takes the designers four to five months or so to produce the dress samples and ship them to the wedding dress shops and boutiques for you to try on.
As you’re shopping for a wedding dress, you can expect to see the dresses from this most recent spring 2022 bridal fashion market in your local wedding dress shops in the late summer and early fall just in time for you to try on your dress and place your order for your wedding in spring and summer 2022.
If you want to get an early start on your dress shopping and see the newest designs early, look out for a trunk show in your area. Trunk shows are a chance for you to preview a certain designer and see many of the dresses in one spot before they arrive in stores. If you see a design or designer that you love, be sure to check out the wedding dress trunk shows in your area so that you can try on a dress that you’ve had your eye on.
