SOPHISTICATED AUTUMN WEDDING IN NEW YORK CITY
When your future mother-in-law is an extraordinary wedding and event planner, you know your wedding day is sure to be one of a kind! I have had the pleasure of providing wedding dressing service for many of Victoria Dubin’s clients over the years, but to be trusted with the bridal fashion for her future daughter-in-law, Madison, was truly an honor. Our bride, Madison, was a joy to work with from assisting her with selecting her bridal gown, to overseeing the customization and alterations process and helping her on her wedding day as her wedding day dresser and bridal stylist.
Come along as I the share an insider’s look into this sophisticated and elegant fall wedding in New York City that features three amazing bridal looks throughout the wedding day, hosted at the iconic NYC venue, Cipriani 25 Broadway.
I am thrilled to share that Madison and Jonathan’s stunning autumn wedding in New York City is featured in BRIDES, all expertly photographed by Roey Yohai.
Madison’s Dream Wedding Dress & Custom Bridal Look
Helping brides find their dream wedding dress is one of my favorite parts about being a bridal stylist! Every bride is searching for a unique wedding gown that feels true to who they are as an individual and a bride. Madison had an idea of what she was looking for in a wedding dress. Her “must-haves” included sleeves, an overskirt, and a dramatic veil - everything that would make her feel truly bridal!
We found the perfect wedding dress for her in a floral alencon lace gown by Zuhair Murad. The portrait neckline with off-the-shoulder sleeves is such a flattering style for brides and the floral lace appliqués added the perfect feminine touch for a sophisticated wedding day.
Working with an excellent seamstress, Madison’s gown was altered and customized to a perfect fit. An elegant floral lace trim wedding veil, also by Zuhair Murad, perfectly complemented Madison’s dramatic bridal look. A fun fact about the veil was that it was designed with the floral appliqué detail at the comb. As the entire bodice of the gown was lace, it felt a little too “lace heavy” for Madison around her face. We decided to have the seamstress remove the veil from the comb and invert it, so that the lace would outine the train of the gown instead of being concentrated at the comb. The result was perfection!
Multiple Bridal Looks: Ceremony, Reception & After Party
The matching removable wedding dress overskirt allowed Madison to have two bridal looks with the same wedding gown. She wore the overskirt for her bridal portraits and wedding ceremony and then removed the overskirt for the wedding reception for a more streamlined look. I love a 2 in 1 wedding dress look because it allows the bride to easily change her look on wedding day!
In addition to changing the appearance of her wedding gown, bride Madison also changed her hairstyle from the wedding ceremony to the reception. She began the day with a low chignon for a more formal bridal look during her first look and wedding day portraits, but let her hair down for the wedding reception and dancing.
For the end of the wedding reception and the after party, Madison had one more bridal outfit change, this time into a backless Ines Di Santo halter-style dress with pearl detailing. This look was so her and so fun!
The Groom & Bridal Party’s Outfits
Of course we couldn’t forget our stylish groom, Jonathan, who kept things classic in a custom tuxedo.
For her bridesmaids, Madison gave them mood boards for inspiration rather than selecting specific gowns or dress for each of them. Each bridesmaid chose her own dress and embraced the fall color palette and overall design of the wedding with a focus on monochromatic neutrals and earth tones.
In the end, the bridesmaids wore an array of gowns in champagne, taupe, gold, and brown, creating an organic feeling and the perfect mix-and-match style look where everyone looked amazing and felt comfortable.
After helping Madison with her bridal dressing on the wedding morning, she shared a first look with her father before having a private first look with the groom, Jonathan.
We explored a few favorite spots around the city for wedding day portraits of the bride and groom and the wedding party before the wedding ceremony.
An Unforgettable Celebration
It was an honor to be included as a guest at the wedding reception (something that does not happen often as a vendor!). Being seated with the best of the best in the wedding industry who collaborated on Madison and Jonathan’s epic wedding will not be soon forgotten.
Perhaps the best gift of all was the special shout-out the groom gave me in his wedding speech.
As a bridal stylist, my job is to help my couples look and FEEL beautiful on their wedding day. I am so grateful that I achieved this for this beautiful couple.
This was an epic, unforgettable celebration filled with love, style, and the best of the best in the wedding industry. I am grateful to have had a front-row seat to watch it all unfold.
Congrats Madison and Jonathan!
Thank you so much to Madison and Jonathan for allowing our day of the wedding bridal dressing team to play a part in your beautiful wedding celebration. It was our pleasure to help you and your families get ready for your big wedding day!
