INTIMATE STRAWBERRY INSPIRED WEDDING AT THE MAYFLOWER INN
If you are a bride planning a spring wedding, or an outdoor garden inspired wedding, you won’t want to miss this timeless New England wedding inspiration complete with strawberry red infused wedding design details and outfit changes in our bride!
Having an intimate wedding, or wedding on the smaller side, can allow brides a chance to really play with their bridal fashion and have the time to take some fun wedding day photographs. When styling our bride, I wanted to highlight the joys of spring and small wedding and be creative with her outfit choices - and changes!
This sweet strawberry red wedding design collaboration at The Mayflower Inn in Washington, Connecticut was gorgeous and it was a joy to style the bride.
Bridal Styling & Strawberry Red Wedding Ideas
Elizabeth of Elizabeth Hall Events approached me with the inspiration for an intimate, outdoor spring wedding at The Mayflower Inn inspired by strawberries. I knew the elegant setting of the inn was going to be a perfect location for a stylized intimate wedding and loved the idea of using strawberries to symbolize the spring renewal.
I selected a floral embossed organza gown with billowy sleeves from Anne Barge for our bride and a green tailored suit from J. Crew for our groom. In order to not compete with the pops of red from the strawberry details, I decided to dress the bridesmaids in white simple Jenny Yoo dresses.
The garden setting for the simple wedding ceremony allowed all of the wedding day fashion to shine. The floral pattern on the bridal gown tied into all the rustic details. The strawberry details allowed for some fun pops of color in the ceremony floral arrangements and bridesmaids bouquets.
As a reception look, I changed the bride into a flirty minidress by By Watters with a similar billowy sleeve detail. Of course, the perfect accessory was a sparkly strawberry clutch from Judith Leiber!
Intimate weddings don’t have to be small when it comes to bridal fashion! Even though you are getting married in a garden, you can still wear a full bridal gown and veil. You are a bride, after all
