TIMELESS SPRING WEDDING WEEKEND IN WASHINGTON, DC

Franci and Cory planned a timeless, spring wedding day in the nation’s Capitol. I was happy to have helped bride Franci select her fashion for all of her wedding related events, including her rehearsal dinner, and to be with her on wedding day to provide day-of wedding dressing services and ensure everything was flawless for all of her bridal outfits. And let’s not forget the groom too! Our team was on hand to help steam all of their tuxes, press their shirts and ensure that all of their bow ties were perfectly tied. Our wedding dressing services don’t extend to just the bride and bridesmaids. We are on hand to assist all the important family members, the groom and groomsmen, too.

Franci and Cory live in Washington, DC but are originally from other parts of the country and so they were lucky enough to have multiple wedding related events in DC, Texas and Nebraska. Our team was excited for the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC to be on hand to make sure the bride, groom and wedding party stayed fashionable all weekend long.

The Night Before

Tor the couple’s rehearsal dinner for their friends and family traveling from afar, which was hosted at The Hay-Adams Hotel, I helped Franci select an elegant sheath dress by Lela Rose with black floral detailing for a classic with a twist bridal look.

Her modern yet classic dress was a chic rehearsal dinner outfit choice as the bride for her night-before-the-big day look.

The Wedding Day

The next day began with Franci and her bridesmaids gathering back at the Hay-Adams to get ready in their wedding day finest, starting the morning in matching lace trimmed matching wedding party shirts.

For her wedding dress, Franci selected a silk faille ball gown wedding dress by designer Nardos for a classic and elegant bridal look. This beautiful ball gown bridal dress has a cathedral train and Franci paired it with a Chantilly lace jacket for a bit more coverage during the wedding ceremony. We added a lace trimmed, Cathedral length wedding veil and a bouquet of white blooms to complete Franci’s bridal look.

The bridesmaids wore dove grey faille dresses by Amsale in mix and match styles that were perfect for a spring wedding day. They carried smaller bouquets that complemented the bridal bouquet.

The wedding ceremony was held at the chapel at Georgetown University, which has special meaning, as this is where Franci went to law school. After the I Do’s were said, guests headed to nearby Decatur House for an opulent, tented wedding reception. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a stunning floral arch with white blooms. This theme was continued in the clear tent, with hanging floral chandeliers and low, lush centerpieces with tall candles to add a bit of warmth.

For dancing at the reception, bride Franci transitioned into her second bridal look by removing her lace bridal jacket and donning her strapless ball gown. We love the use of removable bridal accessories as an easy and classic way for brides to change their style throughout wedding day. When the evening was close to ending, Franci changed into a playful, sparkly, fringe cap sleeve sheath by Naeem Kahn for the wedding after party.

It was truly a dream come true wedding day for Franci and Cory, and John Cain Photography was there to capture it all beautifully.
