DREAMY BEACHSIDE WEDDING IN CAPTIVA ISLAND, FL
My styling team was excited for a winter getaway to Florida earlier this year that was only made better by being able to provide wedding day styling and dressing services for bride Maighdlin, groom Derek, and their wedding party and families for their beachside wedding on Captiva Island.
I had only met Maighdlin via Zoom prior to her February wedding on Captiva Island, FL. I had conferenced in for her final wedding dress fitting to review the fit and her bridal dress’ bustle. When we met in person on her wedding day, my styling teammate Lauren and I were instantly made to feel like part of the family. Maghdlin’s warm smile and infectious energy set the tone for a perfect beachside wedding day!
There is so much to love about the charming island of Captiva in Florida, but the gorgeous weather and the adorable chapel where the wedding ceremony took place made us even more enamored.
We were so honored to be part of Maighdlin & Derek’s wedding day!
After getting ready on the morning of her wedding day, Maighdlin shared a special first look reveal with her dad before heading to meet her husband-to-be for a first look under the Florida palm trees. There was not a dry eye…including our own!
Beths’ Pro Tip: If you’re thinking about a first look photo session before for your wedding ceremonies, like Maighdlin and her father and then her grom, please check out my advice on wedding first look pros and cons.
For the wedding ceremony, Maighdlin wore a cathedral-length, lace-trimmed wedding veil that complemented her strapless, v-neckline, crepe Rita Vinieris wedding gown that featured a delicate lace pattern over the bodice. Once the I Do’s were said, we bustled the bride’s long wedding dress train and added a crystal beaded belt as a fun wedding reception accessory. She also added a tulle skirt for her first dance to have a true “twirl moment”! It is so fun for a bride to have two looks in one wedding dress!
Maighdlin’s waterfall bridal bouquet of greenery and white and light pink blooms is a showstopper for sure! And what wedding couple could resist sunset wedding photos on the beach- made even better by sharing a champagne toast with your wedding party!
This is one day of the wedding bridal styling client that we will never forget! And we’re even more excited to be able to share a few of their dreamy Florida wedding photos with you from their photographer Maria Glassford Photography and planned by Kelly Mcwilliams.
(Don’t miss a few photos of my team and me helping the bride and her family get dressed for the wedding day and be picture perfect all day long!)
We are always so honored when our couples share a testimonial about our wedding day dressing service - it makes all the hard work worth it!
“Thank you so much! We had the BEST time with you and Lauren, and you two were the biggest gift to have on our wedding day.
As someone who had no idea what a bridal stylist or wedding day dresser would add for my day, I cannot recommend it enough. This was the first vendor my wedding planner encouraged me to lock down, and I was super skeptical. She was adamant, so I trusted her, and boy am I glad I did!!! Beth and Lauren showed up with bells on ready to work. From steaming/pressing our dresses and the men’s shirts, to being by my side to ensure I looked and felt amazing each step of the way, they did not skip a beat. When you think of your “day of” bag, you probably think of a girl carrying around a small sewing kit, pins, tape, bandaids, etc... Well forget all of it because Beth has it all!
From start to finish, they helped with ensuring my dress was laid perfectly for photos, helped tape me in as the day went on, bustled my gown after the ceremony, helped with outfit transitions, and let’s not forget the amount of help behind the scenes they were doing. My bridesmaids and the moms benefited heavily from this service as well because they didn’t have to stress about steaming or pinning themselves in for last minute wardrobe malfunctions. They even helped stage photos so my photographer and videographer could focus on capturing moments, not stray hairs.
There is so much more I could say, but you get the idea. I am strongly encouraging you to consider budgeting for a dresser/stylist for your big day. You will NOT be disappointed.
”
Thank you so much to Maighdlin & Derek for allowing our day of the wedding bridal dressing team to play a small part of your beautiful day. It was our pleasure to help you and your families get ready for the big day!
